You may have heard of the Law of Attraction before or this may be the first time. Whichever is the case, you have found your way here for a reason; to figure out what the law of attraction is all about.
History
The law of attraction has been around for years and is said to have come from the Buddha who said ‘what you have become is what you have thought’ [1]. As it spread to western societies, the term ‘Karma’ was coined and described the belief that what you do to others will happen to you. This is something you may be familiar with and a lot of people like the concept of it!
The Ultimate Guide to the Law of Attraction
On the surface, this law states that ‘like attracts like’, but what does this mean?
Essentially, everything in the universe has an energy around it, your thoughts, feelings, actions, the things you see and experience. When you refer to quantum physics, science tells us that right down to the cellular level, everything is energy in motion. This means every thought you have, every feeling and action you take are all made up of energy and therefore have a vibration.
According to this attraction law, whatever you put out into the universe, you will receive the same in return. If you’re emitting low vibrational energy, you will attract this in return. Equally, if you’re spreading high, positive energy out into the world, you can expect abundance back.
But what do low and high vibrations equate to in everyday terms? Simply, if you’re kind to others, others will be kind to you. If you hurt others, people will be hurtful in return. This is the general rule, but there is a little more to it.
It all starts with your thoughts.
Everything you see around you started as a thought in someone’s head. The chair you may be sitting on started as a thought and then someone attached emotion to it, which drived action.
Thought leads to an emotion and emotion leads to action. This is the law of attraction in simple terms.
Let’s dive deeper…
Have you ever went to buy a new car and you start to notice that car everywhere? Did everyone buy the same car on the same day? No, however, that car is now relevant to you. Leading up to your purchase, all you thought about was this new car and what it would be like to drive. Your thoughts were flooded with images of your new car and when this happens your brain starts to focus and pay attention to those thoughts.
What happens next, is that your brain trains your eyes to pay attention to what you were thinking about. In the case of our example, the new car.
Similarly, when you’re in a crowded area, you’re able to block out hundreds of conversations until you hear your name and your attentions locks onto that conversation. Why does this happen? Because your name is relevant to you and you’ve been trained to pick up on it.
Some people find it hard to accept such a universal law because it means we have to accept that, if our thoughts create our reality, then we are responsible for everything that has happened to us.
While this is a daunting statement, it’s important to recognise where our thoughts come from. Growing up we adopt lots of beliefs from our societies and people around us. Many of these beliefs are limiting and often, we don’t realise we have them because they have become cemented in our sub-conscious minds. Our beliefs end up dictating what we think and how we act, so out of the thousands of thoughts we have every day, our subconscious beliefs govern most of them.
If you have a belief that the world is unfair and you never come into any money, your brain will start to train your eyes to look for supporting evidence of this thought. The more you give this thought energy, time and emotion the more power you give it. You began attracting similar vibrations in your life. You may notice more tragedies and get hung up on debt or a low income. Alternatively, if you focus on the positives, you will eventually attract more positivity into your life because you become aware of the opportunities around you.
Our thoughts determine what we pay attention to and therefore, what we pay attention to determines what opportunities manifest into our life. We can only act on opportunities that we can detect.
To summarise: The law of attraction says that what we put out, we attract back in abundance.
Law of Attraction: The Ultimate Guide
Can I use the law of attraction to my advantage?:
Yes – It’s called Manifestation!
As I said before, it all starts with your thoughts and beliefs. If your core beliefs are aligned with what you want in life you’ll be able to manifest your desires with ease!
Your beliefs shape your thoughts. Your thoughts shape your emotions. Your emotions drive your actions and your actions shape your reality!
However, if you’re manifesting more streams of income but subconsciously you don’t believe you are worthy of a high income, you will struggle to make any changes.
My top tips for using the law of attraction:
Gain clarity
Get clear on what you want to attract and why! Knowing what you want will help you manifest with ease because you’ll be able to visualise exactly what you want.
Make space
A common mistake people make while manifesting, is not making space or time for their manifestations. If you are manifesting a new client, make time in your schedule for the additional work! If you don’t make room for your desires, you will be sending the universe mixed messages.
Remove limiting beliefs
This is the biggest mistake people make! If you have been trying to manifest but nothing seems to be happening, it’s likely you have some core beliefs that are holding you back!
There are a variety of ways you can do this, subscribe to my email list to be notified when I tell all!
Tip: Work on believing in yourself and finding some self-love!
It starts with your thoughts: Whether you’re aware of it or not, the law of attraction is at work. This is why it’s so important to become aware of your automatic and repetitive thoughts!
